How much did you pay for your 1st service?

Just curious... I paid $63 for my 1st service today at a local dealership (Ocean Honda in Santa Cruz,) and I'm wondering if that's reasonable or if I should try and find a local mechanic/cheaper dealership elsewhere...

Thanks!

$39 for oil and tire rotation, but I cheat because I work at a Honda dealership in Illinois.

You should find a local mechanic (or do it yourself). Avoid the stealership at all costs (exscept for warranty work of course).

x2, pls get your money back for atleast the oil change, first oil change is free at any Honda and at most dealers, I have a toyo, chevy and few hondas and all had first one free.
fyi: I never rotate my tires, just put new 2 new ones once they wear out, cost saving of rotation pays for new tires....

wow. seriously? discount tire does FREE rotations. even doing your own takes at most 30 minutes. you'll get a lot more mileage out of your tires if you rotate them.

$63 is not reasonable for an oil change & rotation. I'm not sure if the first oil change is on Honda because I haven't had to do it yet with my Fit. When I bring my wife's Civic to get serviced I bring in other Honda dealer coupons(usually one in my gereral area). For example $19.99 oil change coupon, when I know I'm only do for a oil change and rotation. Most Honda dealers will honor other Honda dealer coupons. At least from my experience they have. I also do my own Tire rotations, saves money, it's not that hard, and it only takes 30 minutes. That is what I feel comfortable doing to my car. But I think I'm gonna look in the shop manual to see how hard it is to change the Cabin and Air Filters and if it doesn't seem too hard, I'll try that to try and save so more money. But if you don't want to work on your car a oil change and rotation should not cost you more than $34.99 plus tax, fees.

My first service was free, oil change and inspection

My next service is going to have me swapping out the oil and converting to Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 oil filter, let the insurance begin

Over 4 years I have been driving my Fit and doing all of the servicing..Eating possum feces with a dirty spoon is preferable to paying the parts and service rates at any dealership.

Lol, just say NO, no means no,
go in for oil change, and print coupon off web,
never rotate tires, just plan on replacing front 2.

Here in rip-off land Australia, Honda charges a fixed rate of $275 for the first 6 month service.

You get:

Car washed inside and out

Tyres rotated

Levels topped up (which I think means windscreen washer fluid)

Oil change

Tyre pressure check

Some other things that sound really useless like checking iof things are loose.

I can do basically everything except the oil change (which I think is not really requiired) so $275 for doing that is an extraction through the back passage of hard earned money for almost nothing.....without lubrication.

If anyone here is considering buying from Hornsby Honda - DON'T !! They are hopeless!!!
