so the new question is, how bad does negative rep effect you. Could it be that a negative you give is the equivalent of taking 5 points away?

Whatever visible rep power they have is what you receive or get taken on your invisible reps. In other words with me i have 1 visible rep. If i was to rep+ you then you would gain 1 invisible rep. If i was to -rep you then you would lose 1 invisible rep. What your visible rep number is is how many you can give or take from someone else. I hope that makes sense.

How the heck am I getting neutral rep? The only choices I see are "I approve" (positive) and "I do not approve" (negative). Where's "I really don't care" (sic) (neutral)?
That's been bothering me for so long.

Red dot = negative rep
Green dot = positive rep
Grey dot = neutral rep (adds/subtracts nothing)
Look at TOOL's pic above.

Neutral is not a choice. It happens when a newbie gives a positive rep. He has no rep to hand out, so when he sends out a positive rep, it's grey, until such time that he is no longer a newb but has rep power.

For sh*ts and giggles, make a metaphor using WoW. I'll +rep you (unless your metaphors suck).

Correct or atleast that is what i have taken from it. There was talk before that possibly ten noob reps would make 1 invisible but there is nothing to back that up. So yea you dont really gain anything for a noob rep that we know of or have figured out thus far.

Did you exit out of Fitfreak and or restart your computer? It may have been a glitch or something. No problem. Check it again just to be on the safe side.

Nope, didn't do either. I left my comp up with FF running...went out and came home and checked again and lo and behold it's there!!
Oh well, as long as it works!

I dont think 40 sounds bad.
A good compromise that seems reasonable from what little I know.
I am all for the highest we can make it w/o making people cringe.
I figure it will keep out the silly Riff Raff rep warriors
...now I will go paddle out on my Riff Raff

I threw out 30 but if others believe that is to low then we can all make it higher. I was hoping that a bunch of people would jump in on this but i dont think its gonna happen. Let me know what input you have and we can go from there. Thanks bro.

Thanks for your consideration It is much appreciated.
Now I feel uber special and will say something invariably anticlimactic...
like 40 sounds good to me.
Are there any other perameters that we might want to look over?
I am good with changing the rep titles...
Unknown quantity...
on a distinguished road...
will become famous soon enough...
Well not to change them but add to them just for kicks!
so ans so is an unknown quatity at this point- 0 reps
so and so exhibits useful info on the weekends- 5to10 reps (invisible of course)
so and so is on a distinguished road- 1+reps
so and so is not just fun at parties- 2+reps
so and so saves drowning children- 3+reps
so and so appears to have grey material between the ears- 4+reps
so and so will become famous soon enough- 5+reps or like fifty total reps whether they counted or not
so and so needs to get paid for this- 7+reps
so and so should be listened to...for karma's sake! - 10+reps
for negative reps
keep the so and so has had some shameless behavior
and add for really bad negative reps like negative -5reps
so and so has obvious problems!
sorry i just felt like goofing around...
