I was talking to a friend of mine in Oakland just a minute ago and she was saying with the gas as high as it is, people are punching holes in van gas tanks and putting buckets underneath to catch the gas. People can't siphon it out since folks are now putting locking caps on. Dayum, that's foul. Watch your gas tank.

People these days. Jee whiz. I never thought of that but i guess it could happen. I see it being somewhat of a challenge cause our cars arent that high but you never know. Thanks for the info regardless.

back in my high school days... i tried to siphon somebodys car(haha my next door neighbors) well most cars have siphon blockers. i gott uber light headed. then i just cruised down the street to the construction area. and they had the old school trucks. that use gas not diesel. and just took it out of the jugs.
but that was the good ol days with no money and needed like 3 gallons of gas to go to school haha.
no more of that for me though.

i wonder if the average gas-stealer would know where our gas tanks are. they might just end up stabbing up the car in the wrong place. they would be better off targeting cars with larger tanks too.
Im still trying to figure out even if they found our tanks how they could actually get the fuel out? Our cars are low enough stock where you would have to wrestle around on the ground just to get to it. haha. Oh well if someone really wants 10 gallons of gas and wants to crawl all over the ground to get it then they must need it more then i do

I would love to see a little punk try to squeeze under my car to get to the gas tank. They would burn the sin out of themselves on one of my 4inch exhaust tips. lol
This is similar to the goons who swipe catalytic converters. For what its worth on both situations, its more prevalent on trucks and vehicles that sit higher for easy access. Cars, especially lowered cars shouldn't be much of a problem unless you live in an area with a lot of dubious folks.

I haven't heard any news stories around here about stealing gas. Lately, I've seen several news stories of people doing smash-and-grabs, trying to steal ATMs. I guess they want the cash to pay for the gas.
