Just ordered a Tamron 70-200 f/2.8, should be here early next week I hope. Anyone else use it before? From what I've gathered optical quality is top notch but AF is a little sluggish.

Just in case anyone's curious, Nikon just leaked their new flagship model out in Europe a few days early of the 12/1 release date. The D3x is 24.5mp and is rumored to be priced around $5k in the US, but we'll know for sure in a few days. Here's the initial details: D3x specs and details available | Nikon Rumors

Nice photo, always like BW for portraits.

And I don't think any of us are going w/ a D3X anytime soon -- they just released the US price, $7999.00. Yow! That's $1500 more than my whole D3 setup, and that's just the body . . . .

Yeah I think it's a real small niche of a market. Good for super sized prints, I think the RAW files are something around 80mb a piece at 24mp if I read correctly. High ISO performance isn't as good as the D3/D700 either.
