Well right now I'm trying to chose to weather to get the canon XSi w/ 18-55mm and 15mm fisheye lens or the Nikon D80 w/ 18-55m and 15 mm fisheye lens....so show me what you guy/gal gears to take those beautiful pictures!!!! And any inputs of one of two DSLR. Thanks
Well, I have some gear but not much. I take photography as a light hobby but seem to really enjoy it. I have been doing this since January. Hey, I got your pics man. Sorry I couldn't mail it but I will hand it to you personally withing couple weeks.
Canon 5D, Sigma 70-200mm Lense, Canon 50mm 1.8. This camera is NOT an entry level thing. It's a FF camera and cost around $1900 for used body only. Sigma lense ean about $800 and Canon 50mm was like $100.
Canon XTi w/ 18-55mm lense (around $700new), Canon Battery Grip (around $140 new). Also in this pic I have Canon Hood ($35) and a UV filter.
Canon 430EX Flash Kit. ($265 new)
Canon 75-300mm Zoom Lense (around $200 new)
I also have the SIgma 24mm 1.8 Prime ($430) but I'll post a pic later.
If you want sample pics from any of these LMK. But it mostly depends on skilled user as well so I'm sure my pics won't be the greatest since I'm a noob.
don't have pix right now, but i have a canon 350d, canon battery grip, canon 18-55mm kit lens, sigma 28-300mm lens, canon 50mm lens, rapid r strap, canon 430ex flash, canon backpack, etc.
Hahah mine is weak compared to yours up there lol. But im just getting into photography, hope to soon have a Nikon D40 as my first DSLR, hopefully christmas!
Anyway here is my Canon SX100IS, pretty good cam for a P&S.
My Case
And my tri-pod

The lens you have does help alot but if you only have a 2mp camera then you aren't going to take anything bigger than like a wallet size pic other wise it will be all grainy.
I have a 6mp nikon d50 and works fine for what I need. i would say once you hit 6-8mp then anything above that doesn't matter for a non professional.
But if you were going to take poster sized pictures I would suggest having a 16mp+ camera.
As far as lens or glass I would stick to the same brand as your camera or I have sigma which are a little cheaper in cost and are awesome as long as you get higher end ones.

if you want to play with extremes, if you use a mason jar bottom for a lens, then you'll end up with shit pictures. if you aren't making wall sized prints, you'll be alright with a 350d or 400d.

I completely agree wasn't trying to play extremes was just saying MP does matter so someone doesn't get confused and go buy a used 3mp camera with an amazing lens and expect to have good large photos.

wow, so many noobs with misunderstanding of what matters in a camera.
I am not going to getting into any dicussion so arguing with me here is like talking to yourself but some people need to know their facts before making bold statements.
Peter, yeah man I got all the pics in a disc and will hand it to you next time I see you or just mail to you house soon as I get back. And no baller here lol, I just wanted a 5D and several more lenses that I thought would help so I bit the bullet and bought 'em. I still got the XTi and my lenses and will be using 'em as back up.
