I purchased the 20x48 cargo carrier that has an adjustable base from etrailer.com. Here's the link.

20x48 Cargo Carrier Fits 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver Hitch 6500 : Trailer hitch bike rack and trailer hitches - etrailer.com

I'll take some pics of when I get it and all and if there is any scrapage possible. It does raise it 3 inches and you can adjust it to be closer to the rear bumper.

Smeister-
Boy, you had to reach pretty far back to find my post to reference in your reply. But thanks. I have been wanting to buy one of these carriers, but have held off because they all appeared to be much too low to clear the ground when I drive out of my very steep driveway onto the street. I will look forward to reading your review on this carrier when you get around to posting it. This is really welcome news!

I got the Hidden Hitch which is a class I hitch and has a 1 1/4" opening. You can buy a 2" adapter if you need to hook something else on there with a 2" size.

My bike rack actually came with a 2" adapter, I doubt I can use it for towing though.

I installed a bike rack and hitch on my car this month, In case anybody missed it I put the review of both the hitch and carrier here;

Fit Bike Rack!

^^Lots of pictures too
