'06-'07 Top Ten JDM cars
Was reading a recent issue of Option magazine and came across this in the back. It's the sales figures for 4/06 - 3/07 of the top 20 cars in Japan, though I'll only list the top ten as most of the rest no one will know.
1. Toyota Corolla 147,874 cars
2. Toyota Vitz(Yaris) 122,733 cars
3. Honda Fit (yea!) 96,598 cars
4. Toyota Estima 89,298 cars
5. Nissan Selena 78,979 cars
6. Toyota Passo 75,193 cars
7. Toyota Wish 71,538 cars
8. Honda Stepwagon 70,518 cars
9. Toyota Crown 63,374 cars
10. Nissan Tiida(Versa) 66,585 cars
Interesting the JDM Fit sold ~3 times more than what was released here in the same period. Makes me not believe the rumors about not having enough production capacity to keep up w/ demand. I tend to think they limited the amount of vehicles here simply to keep demand high and sales consistent. Everyone tends to want to buy a car that's so hot they can't keep them on the lots. Anyway, just thought some might find this interesting.
