Remember also that road test numbers rarely do long sweepers for their tests, they tend to do slalom and some circle skid pad tests. A road course has more long sweepers and less tight transitions. From what I've read of the reviews, the fit excels at quick transitions like slaloms, lane changes, etc. It has a very high steering ratio. I also think the Xa may be lighter and as others have said the Xa may have been close to the limits of his car and/or had mods.

wow, interesting, your one of the few who probably feels that way.

I've noticed that a lot of cars posess better turn in, whereas others have better steering feel.

The last time i drove an xa i felt it rolled to much in corners, without offering the stability that a rolly polly car offers when your on the straights.

i didn't like the steering feel either, and the fit seemed worlds more responsive. But to each his own, your right about the tv fitment though!

OOPS..i forgot to post this earlier... but its great timing now..

I truely and deeply believe that the confidence any particular car gives you contributes greatly to your performance in many situations.

This can be thought of as good or bad...it depends on what is being taken for granted and what inspires you to handle things properly:) or:( ...usually:)

The xA probably had the advantage being an over sized toad with sticky feet (tires)
Even if the car can out handle the Fit, whos more proud at the end of the night having a Fit shown off in their drive way?

The xA's look like doodoo.

You probally just suck ass at driving. They are about the same so you just suck. Besides my sweet xD will smoke your ass.:D

^YES IT DOES, man xA's are ugly and even more ugly modded. xD's look ok modded. Neither one of those can beat the Fit salome speed.

I read a review...I dont recall which one or from where (but I will post it if i find it again) of the xA and Fit where someone said the xA looks like a stack of soggy pancakes!.....a few days later...having forgot that I read that review... I saw an xA while I was out and about...and the first thing that hit me was "STACK OF SOGGY PANCAKES"

I don't think its a bad looking car (I see worse every day...but I also see much better) But I can definately see why some cringe.

I cant get that "pancake" thing outta my head now though...it really does...(at least to the reviewer and now me)...well maybe with dripping syrup...:D

I should probably get back to the topic now....
....um....I.....uhhhh....dont think there is anything more to say about this topic....umm....I guess its up to just responding to random peoples tangents now...:( but secretly:)

Sorry... I was thinking of the xD. I think we were all thinking of the xD.
I like the older xA's and xB's. They are the reason the Fit is here.

I was looking at both the xA and xD, but once I saw the difference in trunk space (seats up) the choice was easy. The looks, handling, and standard features won me over.

HAHA. That is funny. I have definitely scared the crap out of myself not knowing the limits of my car. The back end has definitely came out on me a couple of times. But now not that I have the sway bar.

xa looks better modded?

I guess it depends what your def. of 'modded' means. Obviously, being about looks, no real performance is what the xa is or i guess isn't known for.

The only thing SCION whole handedly started was a commercial buisness dedicated to the ricing of cars. They made it EASIER for punk ass kids to do so.

As far as looks go, the xa is worlds better than the xd. But the xd has a better interior (minus the aftermarket cd player look.) and more space.

But the fit trumps them both.

Is the fit here because of the xa? mmm, i'd like to think more a long the lines of 'hey you know gas is out of control, and our fans have wanted a nice fun to drive hatch. We've got the fit everywhere else, why not the U.S.?'. :D
