Michelin Tires

I'm thinking about replacing the OEM tires on my 2003 Accord and was
considering the Michelin Hydroedge tires. Has anyone used these on an
Accord? How are they? Another reason I'm concerned is that my dealer told
me there used to be a problem with the older Michelin X-One tires where for
some reason, they would wear prematurely on some Hondas. Has anyone ever
heard of this problem or would the Hydroedge tires be fine on my car?

I have run Michelin X-Ones for several years - got over 80K on first
set and have over 50K on this set and no problems - have not had to
even have them rebalanced. Just rotate them every 10K miles or so.

Go to tirerack.com and look at their ratings. Those people like
Bridgestone Potenza a lot - a couple of friends have purchased those
and have been very happy - there are several different models so take
note. See what they say about the hydroedge tires.

I was extremely unhappy with Michelin energy tires - mxv4 - absolutely
unsafe in rain. The X-One's are superb in rain - the Potenza maybe
even better. I trust the people at tirerack. When I can't get a deal
from the local tire guys - I buy from tirerack and get them installed
for $12/wheel.

The November issue of Consumer reports has a tire test that covers, among
others, the Hydroedge. It was chosen as a Quick Pick, second only to the
Michelin X as an all-season tire, but in the test was rated below it in the
Tread Life column. They had a provision that stated that if long tread life
is a deciding factor, the Hydroedge was second to the Yokohama Avid TRZ in
these tests.

great tires, bought a set this past spring, they move a lot of water, only
complaint is they pick up stones due to the large sipes in the tread
pattern.

the hydroedges come with a 90k warranty at discount tire co. im a manager there and most people get 60+k out of them and the good news is the rest can be put towards credit for a mileage warranty for your next set. as far a quality goes i would run a michelin primacy mxv4 absolutely great tires.
