Acura TSX to be axed, TLX concept to debut in Detroit
Production TLX arriving in the second half of 2014
Acura has announced plans to introduce the 2015 TLX concept at North American International Auto Show.
Set to replace the TL, the TLX will be a mid-size luxury sedan that has "more emotional styling with tidier, sports sedan proportions." The model will also be equipped with two new powertrains, a new transmission and an optional all-wheel drive system.
According to Mike Accavitti, Senior Vice President of American Honda Motor, "This all-new Acura TLX is the perfect blend of style and muscle with its elegant, well-proportioned exterior that cloaks the true sport sedan chassis and powertrain beneath." He added, "The sporty characteristics that customers found appealing in the TSX are even more pronounced in this aggressive new TLX."
The TLX will go into production in the second half of 2014 and pricing will be announced closer to launch. Acura will also axe the TSX so the company can focus on three distinct sedans: the ILX, TLX and RLX.

At one time the TSX and TL were great looking cars until they put the parrot grille on them. So they went from offering an European Accord to a Civic for the low end car. Kind of like when Cadillac try to offer a Cavalier.
