My new Focus

Test drove it last week while looking for a new manual hatchback to get and enjoyed it a lot. Really reminded me of my old civic hatchback but with actual guts. That being said I probably drive slower than most people's grandparents.

It's the base model with only a sunroof as the only option. Had the dealer leave the front plate off so I can install one that doesn't drill into the front bumper.

Also ordered a set of huskyliner floor mats for the front and rear. the stock floor mats are tiny and don't protect much.

winter wheel/tire combo will maybe get around to in a couple weeks. 17" snow tires will be a first for me but anything smaller won't clear the calipers.

I'm sorry.

As someone who just bought a new Ford three months ago, prepare for rattles/squeaks/groans everywhere.

Styling wise, I like it.

A nice set of aftermarket rims for the summer would look real nice too.

Nice color and congrats on the purchase

Please be sure to to update us with how you like the car over time. I have a friend who went from a 370z to an ST and he loves it.

I got about 32 on the highway on a short 20 mile drive on the way home after I got it and i'm sitting around 26 just in city doing 6 miles to and from work with mostly stop and go streetlight party.

Ordered something like this for the front plate. it sandwiches onto the lower part of the front bumper with two clamps. the oem front plate bracket rivets onto the front bumper in the middle of the grill. I'll put up pictures of it after it arrives and I get plates.

Nice looking car. Enjoy.

Oh why do they have to just keep adding shit to the rear lower panel? Looking at it it would be so nice with just a plain solid one i.e. no reflectors and eliminate those black slits. Then just a couple of plain round exhaust tips. If it were mine I would consider dropping that panel off at a body shop to fill and re-paint. While inthere go to local muffler shop to re-work the tips.

Hey gotta start the mods somewhere.

i think for most people they want to be different...without changing anything on the car.
but i do agree regular round tips would probably look nicer.

huskyliner floor mats swapped in today. the oem carpet ones were pretty useless and for some reason the dead pedal is carpet ?_?

took 43 days to get my licence plates in the mail. installed the bracket off to the side so I wouldn't block any airflow to the intercooler. sits a little bit in front of a fog light but I haven't used those on any car i've driven so it's no biggie for me.

ordering some wheels w/blizzaks and maybe some mudflaps next. mudflaps more for keeping the salt and sand off the car this winter. aesthetically not sold on them yet but i think i'll like them just for keeping the gunk off the sides of my car

washed the car today and took a few pictures after it was all done.

that husky floor mat's missing the right side coverage.. you'll want to put some hardfelt or something to cover the hump so you dont get any salt stains on the carpet from your right foot.

Nope. I would put the plate back in the center. Just too much of an angle. I suspect a cop would suggest the same.

Boy that original mat was rather useless. Agree with KenChan need a little protection for tunnel.

yea i was thinking of moving the plate to the drivers side of the car so it would be more visible to police traveling the opposite direction.

maybe i can use velcro to secure something to the right of the drivers side to cover the carpet and plastic there

i think the focus is a very nice looking car, so i flirted with one for a bit while shopping for the fit.
myfordtouch and the transmission issues turned me off. brother and his wife got one for her. just got it out of the shop after being at the dealership for three months. rebuilt transmission/clutch. nicer looking than the fit though
