Nope. The Acura swagger was on life support with the RSX, then flat-lined when it was discontinued and we in the US were left with nothing remotely sporty. I will not knock their technology, but I am picky. This is a very subjective statement but the car has to LOOK good for me to even want to drive and be seen in it. So far the Acura designs of the past decade are about as exciting to me as a tax return. Even if it was stupid fast to drive and fun as hell, if it looked like a Pontiac Aztek you can have it. The Acura office in So Cal must be holding the body of Soichiro Honda hostage, last I checked if you do a bad job, you're fired. They have been doing bad jobs for years and keep ticking. Example, the old NSX had ties to racing, Senna, Rahal, Nakajima, well known race drivers all contributed to design and specs through the years. The early posters had the MP4/4 Formula 1 car, with an NSX below it, and an Integra below that. The technology from F1 went into the NSX, then a few bits into the Integra. It was a great "trickle down" marketing and design plan. The next NSX seems to be the opposite, they took bits from OTHER Acura's then added it to the new NSX. If you go to the Acura site today, specifically for the new NSX what do you see? All technology aside there is an old hipster looking guy and a pretty face. No offense to Dave Marek and Michelle Christiansen, but who really cares about those two? When car nerds want to talk they want to talk parts, hp, performance, color, coke or pepsi, etc. I have NEVER heard anyone say well Dave Marek the Global Creative Director said this car will be great. WTF??!! They are either trying too hard or flat out have no idea how to market the car or the brand. Hell I see Jensen Button in some Japanese Honda commercials in an old NSX Type-R. I keep waiting for Acura to turn things around...still waiting but at least still have my old school nsx to cruise around in. Too bad my Integra had over 220k miles or i'd still have that too.
