Couldn't pull the trigger even thou the price was great!
But enough is enough. I'm not ready for another full on restoration quite yet.
Sad in a way but glad i have the sense to push away from the table on this one. :^l

Parts hunt'n

Drove 400 miles round trip for a parts run. Crazy sure.
PU Si front bumper, set of tails , 2 door panels in great condition, center vent with clock, couple of 1/4 panel trims.
Stopped at VA. Diner on the way home for lunch! That buffet was worth the trip just for the fried chicken and greens, fried okra. 78 degrees out sunny 75mph on 95 dude! couldn't ask for a better day, hooo whee!

Grind out the crack in the tail with a small cone on the dremel. Fill with clear epoxy. Def less noticeable.

88/89 and 90/91 Bumper Lights

Done

I have found the that the first and second series of the forth generation Civic bumper lights are way different. The 90-91 have amber lenses inside the housing as the previous series did not . The gasket is made in a urathane as the first series used foam. The 90-91 uses two to anchors into the bumper as the 88-89 used 1 screw in the bumper and a tab.

There's your useless information for the day.

Just read thru the whole thing. Great documentation and build. My kid will be driving age soon, and I'm considering giving him the Fit, and getting myself an older hatch, 89-00. Much funner and easier to work on. Miss my 99 hatch. Older car lets me drop a newer motor due to CA emissions laws. Only concern is just "safety". Newer cars are just engineered better to survive an accident and CA drivers...are...."special". Who knows. Needless to say, I had fun watching your restore/build.

Change out the 205/50/15 up front to 195/50/15 and stop the fender rubbing.

Thank you for the kind words!
I have had the hot rod under cover pretty much since last fall so I just read this. lol.
Have a Integra and in the process of selling it. She's a bute.
Then I can get back to the hatch. :-)
You can't beat the canvas an older hatch brings. B18C with a little turbo, and what a blast you'll have. Just watch out for the boy going midnight racing. Just like what we did, right?

My mom had a 67 grand prix sport with a 455 under the hood! It wasn't even in her prime till about 35-40mph. But after that, OMG hang on! Chirp the tires at 50 mph going into 2nd!
Those where the days....

Definitely. Got a friend trying to sell his 91 hatch dx for dirt cheap....may have to scoop it up for an eventual project like this. Simple/stock exterior restore, but a beast of a motor under the hood. Keep up the good work!

New mud flaps, really, new!

I put a lot of work into the first set but these are well... new.
Can't wait till it's re painted and install the flaps and tail lights.
