rear sway bar legal for Street class?

Is the addition of a rear sway bar legal for Street class? The Fit Sport already has a rear sway bar, so I'm thinking not legal? Only legal on the Base?

For STF class it is legal for a anti-sway bar. What model Fit do you have?

I'm assuming GE since it has a rear sway bar you mentioned. The GD sport, which I have, are not equipped with one.

I have a GE. I'm asking about Street (formerly Stock), not Street Touring.

You should be fine to upgrade the rear.

Street class is a prep level for nearly unmodified street vehicles. New for 2014 the rules allow you to use certain aftermarket parts for wearable items. Replacement shocks, brake pads, plugs/wires and air filters are 'free'. Any wheel can be used as long as it's the same diameter and width as stock and has the stock offset within +/- .25 inch (6.7 mm). You may replace the front or rear sway bar and use a cat back exhaust. For 2014 140 treadwear tires can be used. In 2015 they go to 200 tw tires. DOT R tires (Hoosier A6) or racing slicks are not allowed. You may not use a chip, headers, cold air/cone type air filter or cut/replace/lower your suspension springs.

Thanks, I've read the rules. btw, here's the link for anyone interested:

It's pretty clear for the Fit Base. What's not clear to me is the legality of the double bar setup with the Fit Sport - adding to an existing one, instead of just adding or replacing.

Maybe I'll cross post to baautox forum. I've been out of the autox scene for almost 10 years.

FYI, I submitted a letter, and the Solo Events Board has clarified this issue:

Street
#14519 Sway Bar Clarification
Per the SAC, the allowance in 13.7.A to add a sway bar (anti-roll bar) does not require that an existing OE sway bar be removed. It is legal to add a sway bar in addition to the OE part.

If I read the rules right, you can fiddle with sway bars on one end or the other. Whether that means adding one where there wasn't one, removing one where there was one, or upgrading an existing one are all OK.

Double bar setup? First I've heard of that. I've always just upgraded.
