have you taken it in to smog check? most places in Cali dont care if its just a Smog check, they will still run the test. if its a Smog "TEST ONLY", then youll need the stock box
hmm. i took my nissan xterra in for a smog check last year, and i had a K&N SRI and they still did the "test only". I wouldnt think a Fit would need a smog check.

i thought that in california at least, you don't need a smog check for a new car until it's 4 or 5 years old (can't remember exactly). are you required to get one if you want to register an out-of-state car in california even if it's new?

I have no idea. But i had to get my Xterra smoged last year, it was a 2000. But I had a Intake and exhaust and it didnt precvent them from running the test
hmm, i think the intake should have been a problem and your car should have failed the visual inspection if it wasn't CARB certified; but maybe the tester was lenient towards you. actually you can just offer them a little bit of cash to accidentally "overlook" certain things sometimes.
if the exhaust was after the catalytic converter then it was probably fine. this is based on my knowledge of the california smog laws, so please correct me if i'm wrong.
thanks for all the reply, I just moved here from Texas, now DMV requires me to do the smog test in order to complete the registration. I took it a local shop, they did the testing, and told me my intake is not carb legal, I call Fujita, they said this is still carb pending, so I guess only way to get by is stock intake.
