Disregard it. The user has been removed. We keep PMs private as theyre suppose to be.
All you can do it delete it.

Yeah, I got this garbage too. I'm a member of several forums and have never received a spam message via a PM.

Oh well....

I received a private message on 8-28-09 from LaytheKat (now also banned) which contained a link to the same web site as the 9-28-09 message from Kyle is raddd. Is this to become a monthly occurance?

It would be nice to believe that PM's here would never be the same thing as a flaming bag of dog poop left on your front porch, but sometimes, that's what you get.

If you treat PM's like email SPAM, and never open anything from anyone you don't know, you are guaranteed to miss legitimate, pleasant comments or questions from honest and sincere members whom you might not know.

Nice analogy! I didn't "answer the door" I guess which means I didn't even look at the PM. I'd seen mention of it on the fitfreak forums before I even got mine. SPAM, crap, junk mail, porn "offers", are all are part of life. I almost miss the day of snail mail where at least the scum had to pay 25 cents to jack with you. I still hate all the iphone, xbox whatever crap that shows up on fitfreak. It's a part of life!

There should be a limit of 1 PM per minute per user.

This would keep the a-holes from PMing everybody quickly.

This would give time for users to report it and ban the sh*t heads.

Also you should need to be a member for a month before you can PM at all.

This would make it so much of a hassle for spammers they would give up.

"Word Verification" for each PM sent would be nice.

I actually love tech but answering any unsolicited emails, PMs etc has always been a bad idea. I'd like to know how this scammer made his PMs look like they were coming a known fitfreaker. That's pretty stealthy!

If no one clicked the link I dont see a problem? Basically it was a regular PM from a new member.
Looking at the link you could tell it was going to contain stuff that would catch you off guard.

Spammers are getting sneaky.
