How to properly care for my super black coats?

they are so shiny, i noticed that i started getting small scratches. ive been wiping my rims down with microfiber towels and ive used mothers chrome polish on them twice.

i cant figure out if these are real chrome or some kind of powder coat or what?

Can anyone shed some light on how super black coat ssrs are made and what is the proper way to clean, polish, and protect them?

thanks!

dont use chrome polish!!!! most modern wheels are clearcoated so you take care of them like your paint job.. polish is abrasive

ah the mothers chrome polish is a chemical polish, im pretty sure. it said it was also safe for windows. im still curious as to what the super black coat really is. it doesnt seem to be real chrome since it doesnt go all the way around. the back of the wheel isnt coated.

I use a really thin mix of simple green and water on my Work 020`s ..the black coating is sprayed on like paint from what it looks like and is really easy to have it start flaking off!.. so becareful ...Wax is a good idea too, just stay away from any metal polish!!
