Sliver- in the 80's car like Plymouth Reliant and Dodge Aries were refered to as K-cars. Probably just showing my age here.

In Japan, the subcompact class of car is commonly called a "K Car" or "Kei Car". There are many periodicals in Japan that use this nomenclature. The "K Car" is originally designated for extremely tiny cars that were exempt from Japanese tax and insurance regulations. These were cars that were even smaller than the Fit-- The Honda Fit is certainly a small car, but is technically not a K-Car in the traditional Japanese definition.
Nowadays, the term has become very popular as a term loosely used for small cars in general.
The Honda Fit is definitely not a 20+ year old Reliant/Aries/other similar Chrysler car.
