"fit" Floor Mats???????????

Hi,

Purchased my Vivid BLue FIT, which I call "BLUE JAZZ", on Aug. 5th. It didn't come with floor mats....so I just went and match up a pair of rubber ones @ Crappy tire...

However, they are so annoying as they slide all over the place. Does anyone know what mats I should be buying? What mats do you guys have in your FIT? Did you buy them from Honda? How much?

Thanks for the help!

KELLY.

If you put a little (not too much!!!) of self-adhering 'hook' velcro on the bottom of your mats it will grab the carpet and keep them from sliding. I too couldn't bring myself to shell out for mats that are going to get destroyed within a year...

willmax11 will become famous soon enough
Go to Homehardware and get some "Wafer screws" I used only 3 at the rear of the front matts, rubber, and they don't move at all and can be taken out for cleaning very easily.

I used a black marker pen to make them match the black rubber.

I also saw on the noon news some poor lady in Montreal caused a huge pile-up when she did not brake entering an intersection. The police said there was no brake failure, but they think it was caused by her floor matts rolling up under the brake pedal.

Floor mats and other genuine accessories

You may try Honda Fit Accessories on Google.
None of the sites are Canadian, therefore expect to pay higher shipping fees, both taxes, customs fees, and broker fees. As an example, I ended up paying $282Can for an item quoted $155US. Unless a canadian vendor is willing to offer Honda accessories at a decent price, you probably will be better served by your local dealer.

And yes it is important to secure these mats to the floor as it might save us from an accident.

you will be wasting your time at canadian tire
do not buy the carpet ones from honda they are useless in the winter
I bought the allseason rubber mats from honda they are exspensive but they
fit nice and look good. there are a few clips to install.most people install the front clips only

Just purchased my 07 Fit LX (AT) and had the dealer install the black rubber all weather mats. They look sharp! .. the dealer installed the clips.

I followed up that purchase with a new set of OEM Carpet Floor mats from VictoryHonda via Ebay. The mats came from the US with the total cost working out to $60 cheaper than buying them locally.

I've got the all weather mats with my car. They fit perfectly. My only complaint is that it doesn't cover all the way up the carpetted area where the dead peddle would be. I'm still getting use to the idea of not putting my foot there. :/
