1st OIL CHANGE

Ok, I'm close to 7000 k's on my fit....so do I wait for the maintenance minder to notify me or go in for the oil change every 8000?

I still have 40% oil life left!!!!! What do you guys say?

Thanks.

Kraftydin...

Based on what the Maintenance minder does on my 06 Accord, it will flash up a code once your oil life drops down around 10% or so. I was had the same concerns initially with my Accord as you have. I ended up taking it in early for an oil change and got the scoop on the Maintenance minder/oil life from the service manager.

Apparently, the Maintenance minder/oil life detects how the vehicle is being driven thus determining the % of oil life remaining.

This is a great place to share info on the Fit!!

Good Luck..

coldstorage5 has a spectacular aura aboutcoldstorage5 has a spectacular aura about
I did mine at 2800 then at 6100. 8K is waaaaaaaaaaaay to much.
Remember car manufactures eventually want you to buy another car. i dont buy that they putin "special addditives". If you get150K out of a car everyone is happy. I just want 200k+, thats why I will change it every 3k with regular oil, until 12k then every 5K with synthetic.
