Wow,
some of you guys are major tools.
unclench your buttocks for a moment and get over the fact that not everyone else is like you.
Sure you have the right to drive the speed limit and that's fine. That's what's right and proper and you can go home at night and snuggle up in you're warm bed and play that splendid Rush Limbaugh session you recorded earlier that morning.
But please take a moment to consider that imposing your ideals in a vigilante like manner helps no one.
Nothing get's drivers more irritated than when you are in the left lane just going with the flow of traffic when suddenly you've got gramps creepin' by at a measly 65mph in a 60mph zone. Will the gentleman make way? will he obey the RULES OF THE ROAD and allow faster traffic to go by?
NO, he does not cause he has a chip on his shoulder and he feels that if he gets to have his little power trip and force everyone to have to honk, flash and swerve around his crusty butt. All is done in hopes that everyone will magically slow down and drive a speed limit imposed so soccer moms don't flip their Excursions when their mascara falls to the floor and they are helplessly left to drive with her knees while frantically digging around on the floor of the cavernous interior cause god knows they couldn't have just gotten a sensible minivan, those are so economical and practical that it makes me sick. The only viable option was the 400hp V10 that we use to occasionally "haul" princess's pony about while getting an amazing 9mpg. good thing we got that 50gallon tank. We would just never make it to the mall and back. Especially when you have a stubbly little hunchback pokin' about in the left lane.
Cliffs:
Keep

Damn
Power
Trip
to
Yourself.
I hate having to pass you on the right cause your stubborn ass won't budge from the left lane.

You have to brake the social wall THEY have built for everybody, a wall that protects the famous socialist principle, NOBODY SHOULD BE DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHER, and I'm afraid that not even God can change their social ideas... or to summarize THEIR kind of believe: IF I CAN'T DO IT, SO CAN'T YOU!!!
THEY will hate your guts for NOT agreeing with THEM... therefore nowadays, in a super-heavy politically correct world, you my friend have become a real rebel Keep it up
Chris

I like this thread.
It's nice and sarcastic.
rekcah: I do also love pie so very much myself!! especially banana cream Mmmm.
Ilove how everyone bitches about CB19 speeding in his 4cyl..REALLY PEOPLE! Even at WOT we're still getting an average of 27mpg. MOST MOST MOST other cars on the road NEVER see that kinda mileage. In the sea of Suburbans I must negotiate each morning, I'm puttering along a/c off windows cracked vents open but fan off...driving above the speed limit at times but hardly like a mad man or like a boy racer with something to prove.
I just feel that speed limits are unrealistic. That driving a car is a much more involved experience. It's not just a metal box that transports me places i want to go.
BUT I MUST ASK: if we don't have any roads with speed limits over 80mph in the US why do we have cars for sale capable of going 200mph? I mean...if Honda didn't want me driving their Fit over 75mph why didn't they put a nanny on it to keep me out of the higher RPM NAUGHTY PLACE?
hhhmmmmm I'm gonna love the response to this.

I believe I do recall a little song about people from Toronto... It goes something like this....
"The women are big,
and the men are dumb,
and the children are loopy cuz they live in a slum....
In TORONTOOOO ON-TAR-IO"
good times, glad I got to sing that one for you guys!

Last summer I drove most of the LoneStar State, got in love with Houston (very clean, no homeless at least in d/town when in Toronto is full of such people allowed to urinate anywhere including in front of the City Hall, also something extremely useful for keeping the traffic moving, all d/town Houston is with one-way streets, great city ), also Dallas/FW, SA, and then I drove all the way west up to El Paso (where I felt like I wasn't in US anymore ), back east to Laredo, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Galveston, in Dec. '01 I was in Amarillo, so pretty much all part of the I-10 and I-20 west of Dallas is 80 mph (65 by night), I think I was doing 90 but not faster cause you start burning gas like hell, my point to all freaking 80 yo grandpas in this forum, I have not seen any carnage down there, trucks are all doing 80, everybody is driving in the right lane only except for passing, Texas troopers in F150 p/u trucks pulling over lots of trucks (Mexican border just around the corner), but other than that very clean AND fast moving traffic... and in Arizona speed limit is 80 as well... so, where the hell is the genocide on 4 or 18 wheels all freaking liberals in this forum are talking about??? If you're afraid of fast moving cars, just take the bus or pay a professional driver to drive you every day
Love Texas and the Crawford area residents

Are you talking about the 95% liberal majority or the 5% Conservatives like myself that happen to live in Toronto but have nothing to do with the freaking liberalo-socialistic society
I'm just a NATURALIZED Canadian, and in no way a brainwashed liberal...

[...] People don't have faces in Toronto. They have cigarette ads instead. They listen to your phone calls. There's a tower in Toronto that controls people's minds. It's illegal to possess brightly coloured balloons in Toronto: Illegal to own brightly coloured balloons. All of the children in Toronto must wear suits. Even the girls. Three piece suits. The buildings in Toronto have no windows. I don't want to go. Everyone lives in sub-terranian caverns, Filled with doughnuts made of edible oil. I don't want to go. Nobody goes to the bathroom in Toronto. They have a special operation. They have it removed surgically. There's a tax on all wicker goods in Toronto. There's huge buildings with no windows, And streets with no curves, And inside you find little girls in suits Running around with black balloons And munching on edible oil products. The kids don't have names, They have numbers which are assigned to them at birth. They're called three hundred and eighty seven point seven, Four hundred and twelve point nine, And they all have cigarette ads instead of faces. I don't want to go to Toronto. I don't want to go. I have plenty of wicker goods, I don't want a tax on my wicker goods. I like going to the bathroom, I don't want to go the hospital. I don't want to go to Toronto. I don't want to go. Do I have to go to Toronto? Do I? [...] -- Radio Free Vestibule [sorry, they sang it in black-and-white]

This shit makes me laugh.
Texans can't drive worth a limp dick. (with a few exceptions).
That being said, using Texas speed limits, Texas driving, and Texas roads as a basis for your argument is a little off keel. Seriously

no one wants a car that stops at 75!
people love to speed
and as long as anyone makes a car that DOES go over 75, the one that doesn't, won't get sold?
thats my theory
great thread though

I don't unconditionally support anything. That's unthinking jingoism. And really, do you think our troops are dying in Afghanistan for our freedom? I seem to have less freedom than before the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq, so describe to me how they are fighting for MY freedoms.
