my friend's rx-8 does that when he turns his car on too.
Ughh, Rx-8's suck so much. My coworkers wife has a lemon. It has 15k miles on it. Its had 2 motors and a transmission replaced. It still misfires and has other random problems.

Flutter? You mean get bright, dim, and then slowly power up? Thats what mine do, thats what theyre suppose to do.
They arent suppose to flicker, shake, flutter at all.
Also, turning HID's off and on without letting them cool off or fully power up is bad news bears.
This is what the kit looks like except this is the fog kit instead of headlights. Instead of the one power and one ground wire its an actual plug that goes into the headlight plug.
I had to move the pins in the plug since they were preset in the high and low spots and there was no ground. I shot it with a multimeter and put the pins in the correct slots. When i first checked it this morning after finding the fuse blown was that the negative pin receded. I put the pin back and made sure it was locked in place and tried it again just for the fuse to blow immidiatley again. That is the only plug that clips into the car and the rest of the plugs are all connected correctly. It just doesnt make any sense
with every aftermarket HID kit, i strongly recommend using a relay harness. it takes the 12v power straight from the battery, and not the tiny headlight wiring. the HIDs are triggered by the switch via headlight connector. when it detects the headlight switch on, it'll "relay" to switch the HID system on.
I've installed a gazillion HID kits on many cars, and i've always recommended the use of the relay harness. In some cases, it was a necessity.
i personally know the owner of this site. He's a stand up guy and knows all of the HID-related topics. If anyone is interested in HIDs, def pick up the 55w high output kit. Much brighter than your standard HIDs. I got them for all of our family's cars. Be sure if u're ordering, mention to Todd to include the relay harness.

I'm surprised someone else just used "bad news bears" as an adjective. I thought it was just me and my friends that did that. o.O

maybe flutter was a pretty shiddy word to use,
i have them on a relay, right from the battery,
only the drivers side headlamp wiring is used- from there to relay to battery to relay, to hids

hmm....just make sure none of the prongs are becoming exposed. wrap them in wire/electrical tape for insurance.
