So the install was so easy. I finished in 30min as I predicted. I went on a test drive and took some pics.
Thats what took so long.

Shes lower in the rear now. At least I think, the rears rub on everything.

Ahhh man. Practice was the best. We got our old singer back for the first time in 4months. He makes us who we are haha.

As for pics...I rushed out and didnt bring my cam....**** me haha.

Everyone keeps telling me just to get cash from my insurance company, but i dont what to say to them. How do i go about that?

Most insurances companies will do everything for you. Theyre suppose to come to your house and look at the car. Or they may ask you to go to one of their places.

Theyll give you the estimate of what they think the damage is worth. If its just a repaint it wont be much. $400 max.

Glad the other persons insurance stepped in. Paying your deductible sometimes cause premiums to rise.

is dawn and products similar to dawn safe to wash your car with...? its really nice outside right now compared to the hooot weather we have had all summer and i am out of car wash... ;/

If its that much. And the check will be written out to your dad. He'll have to put it in his bank and give you the money. If he does that. He'll probably keep it.

eh guess its not worth risking it, i know some people who use dawn, but right now we have the costco brand stuff but im sure its pretty much the same. i only have 30 minutes left of daylight at the most left any ways...looks like ill be washing her tomorrow.

No... Its actually not that good to wash your car with dawn. It smells great and makes awesome bubbles but dawn strips wax. Its great if youre planning on waxing your car right after.

But for weekly washes... Its not good for the paint.

thx! looks like im waitin til tomorrow...i should wax my car sometime soon too, haha ive yet to do it. i got the thing from the dealer where they say you dont have to do it, but i know its bs...that only lasts a couple months right? need to youtube some videos on how to wax a car, haha ;/

Ray my mom just said its "insurance fraud" if you use the money for anything other then the repair.
She also said the chances of them writing the check out to my dad is low, they will ask for the name of the place/person who will do the repair.

Is that a whole bunch of BS or is she right?

Of course its insurance fraud.... Youre doing just what your mom said. Using the money else wear.
But people do it daily.

As for the chances of them cutting a check. It depends. They cut me a check for my Probe when I got swiped AND I drove off in the car.
$1200 check, then I sold the car for $1300 wrecked.

But it was in my dads name as hes the primary holder of our insurance.

My cousins have also been giving checks after their accidents.
Just depends.

Sometimes theyll demand you take it to certain places and wont write or pay for any other places.
If they do that check for all and every imperfection and bitch till your rear bumper is perfect.
