Junk yard visit (wheel cylinder wear analyses)
I went to the junk yard again
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...ebbc135131.jpg Gates of Heaven! I removed starter for my future project https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...bef7c74c23.jpg I managed to get it out without removing the oil dipstick tube , just by rotating it certain way (orange arrow) I've noticed that some Fits are showing brake fluid seepage from the wheel cylinders so I took one cylinder apart from the car that had routine brake fluid replacements (every 3 years or so) https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...40e2f73b87.jpg The cylinder bore had no deposit or bad corrosion but instead showed 2 wear marks: https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...491dcc619f.jpg A crescent shape wear pattern at piston pivot point inside of the wheel cylinder Another photo https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...e190496bc8.jpg So... master cylinder might have one too :) Good luck replacing fluid:)) |
