The Fujibo5 GD3: Bo's 2007 Honda Fit Sport

Picked this up back in June 2021 with 190k miles. Super clean

June 2021
Original plan was to just find a car to learn to drive manual on, and this was the perfect car.

September 2021-Current
After getting comfortable with the car, the mods started coming in, and I knew that this car maybe more special than I had thought. So I have decided to make it a weekend track car (maybe 2-3 HPDE events a year) and something to share with my friends to try HPDE as well.

I actually signed up my brother for his very first HPDE event using my Fit! So I have been making sure the car itself is good a ready for its first HPDE in March 2022. Videos and pics to come!

Mod List:

Engine:
Injen Cold Air Intake
DC Sports Muffler

Suspension:
Ksport Street Coilovers

First off, hello and welcome! Its nice to see another GD owner who is interested in getting seat time verses the usual daily beater or stance mistake. =)

Secondly just for something to think about in the future... You may want to dabble around and consider doing the Accord brake master cylinder in conjunction with the rear discs. I'm running EP3 SI spec rears with the factory master cylinder and the pedal feel is a pinch softer than with the stock drums in the rear. Along with that, I feel that going reducing friction material contact patch by going from drum to disc wasn't worth it... BUT that's just my opinion with from past experience while autocrossing my GD. I'd encourage seeing if you can drive someone's Fit with the rear disc conversion that you're interested in before pulling the trigger.

Looking forward to the progress.

Thank you! Yea, i had a 4th Gen Subaru Legacy on air, but as soon as i got a taste of HPDE and the track, i sold it right away and decided it was time to learn manual, and once im comfortable, drive manual on the track Ive taken my Corolla Hatch CVT out on Lighting and Summit Point, and its been great, so adding the element of shifting will be a huge adjustment

I appreciate your feedback!!! Maybe I will stick the drums for now. This will be my first time experience with drums, but I never realized they still have brake fluid going to them for assisted braking and everything

Right on! You'll be surprised how many folk are still running drums and a still surprisingly quick before boost or engine swapping. Heck even Spoon still ran drums on their GD1 while they campaigned it.

For additional insight, you may want to take a peak at the guys running GridLife's Sundae Cup and the others that run in B Spec as well on their brake setups. So far my personal favorite combo used in AX was Carbotech's AX6 pads and their 913 shoes with TechnaFit brake lines... Since you'll be doing more HPDE you may end up favoring something along the lines of their (or a competitor's equivalent) XP8 or XP10 pads up front as the AX6 is a high initial torque autocross pad, the 913 shoes will work fine for road course.

That is once you get a good bit of seat time and verify that your stock/pre-existing brakes are holding you back time wise or limiting you. Its so easy to go overkill on items that mask skills one needs to work on as a driver but just firing the parts cannon without planning things out.

That makes me feel alot better. Im really excited to see how the Fit will treat my brother for his first HPDE. I have see a couple of their videos! Very fun to watch

Ive heard of CarboTechs from the Miata guys, so I will definitely take a look into them! So I can just the 913 shoes? Theyre just universal for drums?

And lastly, I hear ya about overkill on mods lol. So im definitely gonna make sure I do at 2-3 HPDE's myself with OEM setup, then slowly upgrade. Do you have any experience with the Progress Rear Sway bar for the GD?

Wow, you have a very cool car tuning! Right now I want to go to the garage and make LBZ Duramax Upgrades. I often use this source to view and compare parts from different manufacturers. I really want this turbocharger Garrett 848212-5001S Chevrolet/GMC 6.6L Duramax LMM/LLY/LBZ

The 913 designation is just the compound formula for Carbotech's friction material. I'd encourage doing a more aggressive front pad first before changing the rear shoes to something more aggressive for brake bias reasons... BUT of course... your car, your choice.

The Progress rear bar is pretty much one of the most common add ons for the Fit... easily in the top three. Would definitely recommend it or disconnecting the front sway bar as you get familiar with the car and decide to experiment with setup.

Hey man, just wanted to say keep up the great work. I know the forums are kinda dead nowadays but I wanted to login and chime in since it seems like you put in a lot of work documenting everything.

pretty good! I have them set on the hard/stiffer side. However when I had them on the softer side, they rode pretty smooth

If I remember correctly, the Whiteline links are for the rear sway bar. I purchased a set myself on eBay and haven't installed it or my Progress Rear Sway Bar yet.

Nice! Yea I had damaged the front endlinks that came with my KSports, so I had to buy replacements. The Whiteline endlinks are a much better design by far

Do you happen to know if they would work for the front end links too?
