2008 Fit, key won't turn ign. and steering wheel locked

My 08 Fit has decided to shit the bed. The key will go into the ignition but that is it. Won't turn and the steering wheel is locked as well. Help me out here guys. Do i need to try a new key(both of mine do nothing)? Do I replace the entire ignition assembly? Can i replace the locking part of the ign and get by with that? Can I attempt to use a junkyard replacement? I'm working poor so money is the main issue for me. Priced the new one at $400+ and that is not in the picture. If any more info is needed let me know. Thanks in advance guys.

It's probably just stuck. Try wiggling the key while turning the steering wheel.

All Honda's do this. Move the steering wheel back and forth and wiggle the key. It will pop loose.

Gonna repeat what has already been said so that I can think that I'm smart or something.

You may have to get rough with the wheel. Before inserting the key, see if you can budge the wheel to the left or right. You may have to use both hands. Once you have a small bit of movement, you can then try the key while holding the wheel.

Thanks guys. Maybe y'all missed the part about the ignition being stuck as well. Don't know why i didn't try wiggling the damn steering wheel...... I damn near broke the fucker when i was trying to get it loose. Fuck!
So i changed the ignition and everything is moving but it is not starting. New unit didn't have one of the pieces that the old one did so I added it and still nothing. Got a buddy that has a scan tool I can use, just have to get him over to the house. In the meantime, does anyone have some useful info that can help me out. Like someone that has experience working on these ignitions. Thanks in advance.

No, I got the the ignition was stuck. It's linked to the wheel to lock it all in place. If there is a load on the wheel, it sticks the ignition. That's why you have to turn the wheel to remove that load. It would have been better if I had explained that before.

I don't know about the new switch so I'm no help there.
