My keyless remote finally died. Both of them no longer work. Not sure why. Replaced the batteries and they still don’t work. I live in Canada and cannot find the part here.

08E61-S5D-1M0-01 is discontinued. Ironically, I can get it off hondapartanow.com for $30. However shipping is about $50. Anyone know if another vehicle remote will work with the current receiver in the car or where I can find a replacement without spending over $100

 

Our car uses the same remote (same part number).

Do you know if these can be reprogrammed? The dealer told me they may be able to reprogram one of our old remotes that died (but still has the red light illuminate when pressing buttons). For a $85 fee, of course...

They do still have the ability to order a replacement key fob for the 2008 Fit Base at the dealer, and charge $127 US for it. I Bought one of these about a year ago, and am planning to either have the old one "fixed" or replaced so we have a backup soon.

Couldn’t get one in Canada. I ordered an aftermarket one off Amazon. Works flawlessly. Paid $33 for it. Programmed it myself. Looks identical other than doesn’t say Honda and the plastic doesn’t feel the same. But eh. I’m back in business.
