but Dr. House, there's no leakage in the fluid lines! (Trouble diagnosing no-start)

vehicle: 2008 Honda Fit 1.5 L Base: 198k miles

work done: Clutch failure (2 of the internal springs were busted) initiated a clutch & throw out bearing replacement. |Slave cylinder replaced | Clutch lines bled of air (maybe?*)

issue a: Currently, the master/slave cylinder lines do not hold enough fluid pressure to push the throw out bearing onto the clutch [there is as of yet no leakage (fluid line in the reservoir remains unchanged)]

issue b: Shift lever on transmissionis in free play (full range of motion side to side/up and down), no resistance when moving shift arm in the direction of the second gear, there's some interaction with the gearbox in the direction of first gear, pretty much nothing in any other direction.

additional information: Original problem a sudden shift failure, only possible to shift into first gear, car stayed in first for 6 miles. Inexperienced stick driver, 2 years on; grinding while shifting has happened often, attributed to lack of experience driving stick.

help; my da was a mechanic and now I'm feeling dumb as a sack of rocks in his absence.

*: there was an inch and a half wide pocket of air in the line feeding fluid from the bleeder valve to an external reservoir (smart water bottle); yet there was resistance in the clutch pedal and I assumed that it was of no issue to close the valve at that time.
