Dead battery

Can anyone help please!! My Battery is dead, i have been jump starting my Fit for a week now (good thing i live on an inclined street) because I have been unable to find the battery for my Fit. Can anyone asist me on the battery i can purchase for my Fit. Thanks a million!!

shazaam 10-27-2008 01:43 PM

what about jumping it...running it so it recharges...

ccaleb02 10-27-2008 01:47 PM

I have been jump starting it for a week now but the battery is not holding a charge, I need a new one.

ccaleb02 10-27-2008 01:58 PM

Could be but I doubt it, cause about 2 months ago one of the headlights went out and then the stop light so i took it to the shop and asked the tech to check my Fit for any short circuits, the alternator and battery. he said everything was ok, it was a coinsidance that both went out, so just had the alternator checked. How long is the battery supposed to last?? This coming Feb will be 3 years with my Fit. I have read that the stock battery does not have a lot of reserve so i'm thinking mine has given it all it had.

the batteries have no real reserve, three years out of a lawnmower battery isnt bad. try an interstate battery dealer, they supply honda canada with the honda branded replacement batteries.

Go to your local auto store and get a battery.

ccaleb02 10-27-2008 02:49 PM

Are there specific specs i need to be looking for??

Fit_to_be_tied 10-27-2008 05:42 PM

the stock replacement battery says 330 cca and 52 min reserve capacity
the interstate cat says it is a group 151
the honda canada replacement part number is 31500-sln-c01jb

I got my battery replaced for free by Honda under warranty. It stopped holding a charge completely, leaving me stranded everywhere!
but now it runs like a Champ!:vtec:

honda's canadian battery warranty is pro rated after the second year so you are better off to buy a new one from them to get a new warranty(if you need one after 24 months), because the warranty starts from the original puchase date so if your battery is 28 months old you would only have 8 months warranty on the new one.

rushlow 10-27-2008 07:48 PM

^ What he said.

I was lucky and got mine warranty replaced about a month before two years.

shazaam 10-27-2008 09:07 PM

only 330cca... :o anyone able to start their fit in the winter months...like -10 and lower temps? Cause the last battery I bought was 800 or 1000cca...granted that was for a 93 lesabre but still, 330 seems like crap for winter starting.

cmittle 10-28-2008 10:06 AM

I second that, every car battery I've ever bought has been rated over 500 cca, most in the 600-800 range.

I guess thats one of the few perks of living in Mexico City the coldest we ever get is zero degrees celcius. Thank you everyone for your feedback.

Same thing happened to me. It wouldn't hold a charge anymore so i went 2 honda and they gave me a new one under warranty. My car at the time had 28000 miles. If ur still under warranty, go 2 the dealer and request a new one.

amelsportfit 10-28-2008 10:59 AM

dang i have the same problem as you.. mine started to die after i used my battery w/ my engine off to charge my r/c battery and my friend had to jump start it.. but you know what i discovered, if you only hold the key on the ON position or start position just count up to probly 3-4 seconds then turn it off and do the samething.. but i wonder if the thing im doing gonna damage anything.. anyone? you can even charge your battery too using something imma try charging mine.

Has anyone found a place to purchase aftermarket batteries that fit a USDM 06 Fit?
