Manufacturer's Warranty Transferable
 

Hello,
I am a prospective buyer of a used 2007 or 2008 fit sport. I am a first-time car buyer. As such, I am nervous about costs associated with unexpected repairs on a used car. I know that hondas are reliable and almost never have any problems, but the unexpected could always occur.

My question is whether the manufacturer's warranty on a fit is transferable to the new owner of a used fit. Does the manufacturer's warranty of 3 years/36,000 miles run with the car or with the first purchaser? It would give me greater piece of mind to know that should I have any problems with my used fit that it may be covered under the manufacturer's warranty.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

The manufacturers warranty of 3y/36k is designated to the car and not the owner. You also get the 5yr/60k powertrain warranty.
