Hello! Just got 2007 Fit. Love it.
Hello everyone!
I just picked up a 2007 fit sport today. I've been yelling 'The Fit is Go!' for years now and finally am swapping my Element for a fit (no longer need the space of the Element - which is also a great Honda). I am a gen 1 Insight hypermiler and hope that I can see some great mpg from the Fit with proper care and feeding! Hello everyone! p.s. I drove Gen 1 and Gen 2, and liked Gen 1 feel better, so I am a Gen 1 Fit Freak. |
Congratulations! Have fun with your new GD. :)
Even if you don't hypermile with it, you're bound to have fun with the car and the sheer momentum you can bring with it into corners. |
It's cool to see you're an owner of the original Insight. I've always loved that car, even if I've never owned one. What's life like with it?

Hi there, I'm a new 2007 Fit owner too. Don't want to hijack your thread, but it would have said exactly the same thing. I got an orange Sport and I love it! Congrats to you too.

My wife has an 2007 orange fit sport and she wants an element. :) Anyways, I love driving the fit so Im sure you will have fun

Ha! I swapped my orange 05 Element for a new 07 Fit. 33mpg consistently.

Elements and Insights
2001 Insight:
To answer the question about the Insight - I got him 'Edwin' from a Dodge dealer with super low miles and a super low price. It was my first Honda, and it is the FIRST car ever that I cared enough about to name, hence 'Edwin'. I easily can get over 80 mpg on tanks and lifetime mpg is great (I live on top of about an 800 ft hill, so the short commutes to town at about sea level are pretty bad). Lifetime mpg for all driving since I got him is about 65 mpg. The Insight doesn't let you cheat on your lifetime mpg! Some shameless Prius owners will quote you mpg, but never lifetime an honest mpg it seems... It's an mpg killer to live on top of a hill, where you can have a super trip mpg and then the 1.5 miles at the end whacks it hard before the trip is officially done. I absolutely fit perfectly (no pun there) in that 2001 Insight and it will always be my favorite car, but I can't fit another person and our two road bikes in it! You can fit a lot in there though. Element: I in no way was unhappy with the Element - I just don't need the extra size any longer. I can't speak for the current Elements, but mine (2003) was superb. Super efficient use of interior space, short and maneuverable (I used to do art shows with it), great with the side doors, little tail gate, moon roof for fun... It's funny to see how many folks like me traded a well loved Element for a Fit for similar reasons. |

Any regrets? I love those Element SC's and the regular Elements. This was my first choice before I went to buy my Fit.
