":Check Fuel Cap" warning
 

Have an "07 Fit Sport with 33K on it. Last couple of days as soon as I start the car the "check fuel cap" warning comes on. I just hit the button and it goes make to the proper setting. I checked the the fuel cap to be sure it's screwed in properly. The outside fuel "flap" is definitely closed.
Probably a computer malfunction, but wanted to know if anyone has had that problem and, if so, what did they do?

That also happens if you have about a 1/4 to a 1/3 of a tank of fuel and go around a corner real fast...the fuel sloshes to one side and draws a vacuum in the filler neck. I have an '07 Sport Fit and it happened to me a couple of times. You need to start your car three times in a row (with the key in the completely off position) to clear that error message.

haha this actually just happened to me yesterday in my GE. I was about 40 minutes away from home just about to leave school and didn't have my owner's manual on me so I decided to call my Honda dealership.

They told me that it sometimes occurs when the weather changes temperature or obviously if your cap isn't on tight (which mine was). They said the code usually just clears itself and that most of the time it is simply a malfunction.

Had me worried the first few moments though after I checked to make sure the cap was tight, but all is good now.

This happened to my but the message wouldn't go away even after numerous car starts. Yes my fuel cap was on tight. I just ended up disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it. This reset the message, and 6k miles later the message has not come back. Make sure to have your radio code before disconnecting your battery if the message doesn't leave on it's own.

somtimes tapping on the tank near the FP sensor can make the light to go out

Same thing just happened to me. I tried all the above, and disconnecting and reconnecting the battery was the only thing that worked.

Lol this happened to me so I pressed the button up by the gauges and it went away never to appear again :wavey: :p

Just got the "CHECK FUEL CAP" message
 

Driving around today and just got the "CHECK FUEL CAP" message. Pressed the dash knob and the message went away. Had filled up 4 days ago and the tank was at 3/4 full. Did the obvious and checked the gas cap and it seemed to turn a bit before it clicked. :eek:

I find this strange as I always try to tighten it at least 3 clicks after a fill up. :confused: Maybe the weather change? It was much cooler today in north Georgia. Hmmm...
