So I've been hearing all the "hoopla" about this new 3-D C/F wrap....So I thought I'd give a go!!! I'm think'n about wrapping the roof of my ride, but like they always say...if it's new to you start small- so I figured a lic. plate frame is small so I went wit' it. If you have patience this is a good test. Jus' do your layout, cut it and tack it,remove air bubbles with a credit card. The corners are tricky, jus' heat with hair dryer, stretch and press until it's smooth. I'm mounting them with a light smoked acrylic cover. Can't wait til' tomorrow to see what they look like mounted.. Remember... you could always buy c/f lic. frames, but I like to do my own projects.

I like it since it looks really clean and it will keep looking good; on the plus side it won't be like real cf plates that get the clear coats which crack after a while, Good Job Man

your an inspiration of creativitiy to those of us looking for future mods to do. Coming from my previous car and the nissan owners club , what your doing is EXACTLY what this site needs more of to achieve greater popularity. more diy's with pictures and a helping hand. Keep up the work.:vtec:

Thanx, ma'man:) In my humble opinion, jus' putting nice rims on a ride, lowering it flat on the payment looks nice... but it's not to practical if you use your ride as main mode of transportation, besides that's what "everybody else" is doing.

Looks great. How is the finish in person, does it look just like cf? Or is it matte like finish?

mtsredni Dec 17, 2010 04:51 PM

What he asked!

Yes it has a slight shine and texture to it, not the high gloss that real c/f has...but looking at it in person you would not be able to tell the difference unless you examine it very closely, being that it is a 3-D wrap and not the ordinary cheaply made c/f like vinyl wrap. My question to myself is how long does it keep that fresh look? The "warranty" says 3-4 yrs. but that remains to be seen.:D
