Stock rims weight?

Can someone please tell me how much the stock rims on a 08 fit sport weighs? I'm looking to buy new wheels and I want something lighter. I've been looking at some enkei's, but have no comparison. Thanks!

Fitguy07 10-25-2011 12:22 PM

I think they are 19 - 19.5 pounds.

vpark 10-25-2011 01:18 PM

Oh man...that's heavy. The enkei's I want are only 13. I guess I can't really go wrong weight-wise with aftermarket rims...

Subie 10-25-2011 03:05 PM

Of course you'd also have to consider the weight of the tires you choose to put on... worst case weight-wise would be equal to... lighter than would definitely be better.

GAFIT 10-25-2011 03:14 PM

The stock, crappy, tires weigh 18 lbs for a total weight of about 37 lbs. It is fairly easy to match or beat that with other 15's, but not that easy with 16's.

JDMxGE8 10-25-2011 03:16 PM

Get some RPF1s. They're like 9lbs.

TxTurboFit 10-25-2011 03:24 PM

My 15" RPF1's are by far the best investment from performance and mileage standpoint that you can do to a Fit, ridiculous amount of laughs the first time you drive it after install. With tires I am at 24.3, that's 13 pounds less than stock per corner and for every pound of sprung weight you drop is equivalent to 20 pounds of unsprung weight for a mechanical savings of 1,040 pounds. :)

With that said I also have a ridiculous set of low offset fun for when I want to show off but daily on the RPF1's!

vpark 10-25-2011 03:38 PM

You guys read my mind...the enkei's I want are RPF1's, but so many fits on this forum have it. I don't wanna seem like a poser. the cheapest I've seen are for $205 on tire rack...anyone else seen them for cheaper?

What does it mean when the Konig and Enkei wheels look almost identical? does one sell to the other? or are both companies buying from a third party?

our stock wheels are made by either enkei or kosei. It will be stamped on the inside spoke.

vpark 11-03-2011 10:02 PM

so i'm debating between the 16's with either a 43 offset or a 35. I saw a thread that sorta touched on this topic, but pretty much everyone that replied was lowered. a lot of people on the 35s complained of rubbing, i'm currently at stock height and wondered if i'd have that issue :/

it's probably a stupid question...but any thoughts?

GAFIT 11-03-2011 10:32 PM

16x7 in +40 offset rubbed on our Fit at stock height so the +35 would seriously rub. There is a tab in the rear wheel well where the bumper cover mounts to the body. It sticks out and is the first thing to rub. After some "clearancing" by the tires, it stopped rubbing as often, but still rubbed on occassion.

Glad I found this--one of the first things i want to do to my new Fit is get lighter wheels...should be easy if OEM is 19 lbs. (I can't believe they are THAT heavy!)

I love the rpf1s but can't justify the price on my daily driver; I'll see what else is out there...

wheel weighs

Hi all,

Found this College Hills Honda's video from youtube. They test all sort of Honda wheels in that vid. Like OEM Honda, Honda Factory Performance & Mugen wheels.

HFP 16" for Fit = 18 lbs. per wheel.

OEM 16" for Civic = 20 lbs. per wheel.
HFP 17" for Civic = 20 lbs. per wheel.

OEM 17" for Civic = 23 lbs. per wheel.
HFP 18" for Civic = 23 lbs. per wheel.

Mugen GP 18" for Civic = 16.5 lbs. per wheel!!!

Yeah, there's a difference what you have under your ride. Do you're homework - get legit wheels.

Check it out! --> Honda Wheel Weighing video <--

Cheers,

Konig Heliums (shameless plug) are about $100 each. 15x6.5, +40 offset, 12.5 pounds. Only mild rubbing in the back with stock size tires.
