Can I use Castrol GTX 5w20 instead of what Honda recommends (Honda oil)?
Is it okay to use Castrol GTX 5w20 in my 2008 Honda Fit Sport instead of the recommended Honda oil? Wondering if Honda oil cost more too?
Page 187 of the Owner's Manual: Honda recommends 5W20. (Yes, I checked this time.)
You can use any brand or kind that you like, but you would be well advised to use premium grade oils (You love your Fit, right?) and to read the labels for the various different mfrs.'s recommendations.
Most premium oils bear the latest certification of the various rating agencies, so if you stay with premium oil products, you are not likely to go far astray.

No tricks here. Just the obvious stuff. Name brands (Mobil 1, Castrol, Penzoil, Amsoil, et al) and price (expect to pay $8-10 per liter at Pep Boys.
