Can I use my stock radio to hook up my amp and subs? and how?

Post Can I use my stock radio to hook up my amp and subs? and how?

I want to install my current subs myself. but not sure what all i need for this stock radio. and im sure it is not wired for an amp. So if anyone can help that be great. also any suggestion on maybe replacing the stock radio? do i need to replace the whole center housing?

The first part of your stereo that needs to be replaced is the headunit. It isn't a high quality unit and it has a crappy sound processor. IMO replace the headunit and see if you still feel you need a sub. I'm VERY happy with my stereo now that I replaced the stock unit

thanks for responding so if i replace the the radio do i need to replace the whole center housing? i know on my ford tarus i had to buy a whole new center housing or what ever you call it.. do you think if i just hook that thing to the back speakers that allows you to run a amp is good?

The sound processor in the fit isn't good. By simply swapping my headunit, the sound in my car is 100x better. I didn't even realize how flat the sound was until I swapped it out.

You'll need different trim. This is for the GE here.

hi
yes you need to replace the whole center console, and replace the stereo with a branded one, it would sound hgreat with a subwoofer...
