ok, sooo, 215/17/40something, possibly 43 to 45ish, will they fit? And rolling the arches is an option! Also its going to be dropped 1.5". the 215's are Falken Azenis SEMI SLICKS

thoughts guys, what do you reckon? (These are frikin wide, but I can get them sooo cheap)

215/40x17 tires on wheels of 45 mm offset may fit but will be close. Any offset less is verboten without much fender work. Once you lower all bets are off.

Don't call Falken 215s "semi-slicks" ever again :p

None of those specs sound ridiculous, you'll be able to make them fit one way or another.

I run 15x8 +25 rims with 225 45 R 15 tires. To do that I have -3.0 camber up front with a flipped fender liner and a hand pulled fender. In the rear, I had to dramatically roll the fender and it still rubs. I am quite low up front, but at basically OEM height in the rear.

Comparing my setup, to the proposed tire on a 17x7.0 +40 offset wheel... It will be 10mm or 0.39inch closer to suspension.

Comparing that to an oem "Sport" alloy 15" it will stick out nearly an additional inch...

My .02, WAY too much tire. It's going to dramatically throw off your speedometer (like 5+%) and a 215 is a lot of rolling resistance for a car with 100<hp at the wheel. Also, a 17" will be heavy and dramatically effect your acceleration and potentially fuel economy...

Why not? At UTOG of 200 and a good record in a/x competition where minimum 200 UTOG is required they lead in wins. At UTOG of 200 they are semi-slicks compared with 50-60 of real slicks and typical 300-500 for real street tires.

GRM did testing, and so have several other independent sources, showing several tenths improvement on even as short as a 30sec course :eek:

Highlights are killer turn in, "vocal" so you know when your on the edge and basically out of the box good to go grip.

The Dunlop Z2 is also hot, but more "peaky" and is going to require not only significant scrubbing in/shaving, but finesse while behind the wheel and both tire PSI and car suspension set up tweaks to get the most out of it... Its rumored to dance quick transitions like slaloms VERY well if you can figure it out.

The RE11A is also out and about but in limited sizes, not much feedback yet. Next year a new Khumo should come down the line as well. Something like a "710A."

A large number of race series (SCCA Solo ST,RT and Street classes, CrapCan, LeMons, ChumpCar...) are limiting drivers to "street tires" with a 200+ TW tires, so this is a new and growing market... :D

They sure are semi-slick. LITERALLY :rotfl: especially after a few laps.

I didn't even know they made 215s anymore.
