Car Dealer's badge removal
How do you remove those annoying badges the car dealer glues to your car?
It appears to be quite strong adhesive. |
grab some unscented dental floss and saw it off.
Then use some gunk remover, or take an old rag soaked with brake cleaner and wipe it off. Have a clean unused rag ready to wipe the brakecleaner and excess adhesive off. |
Did you buy this car from the dealer? I hate buying a car and having the dealer put their advertisement on the back of my car. That amounts to me providing free advertising for them by having their badge on my car.
When I buy a car, I tell the dealer that I won't accept delivery if they put their name on my car. I check when I go to pick up the car and won't sign the paperwork if the badge is on the car. Once I emphasize that I mean business, I've never had a dealer put a badge on my car! Easy. |

not brake fluid, brake cleaner. Do not spray directly on it, spray the cleaner onto a rag, then wipe rag over any adhesive left from the badge.
As long as you also have a clean rag to wipe up excess, no damage will occur |

I used dental floss/ fishing string then goo gone to remove dealer sticker and badge.
|
Warm things up with a hair dryer first. It makes the adhesive easier to work with.
|
Hair dryer or goo-gone will get off all of it

a hair dryer and dental floss helped remove my dealer's ad

OR
Just let the car sit in the sun on a hot day. With dental floss & goo gone, it'll come off easily. Afterwards, I'd wash the car, clay it and wax it. |
Luckily my dealer used the flimsy plastic sticker. I just peeled it off by hand and removed the small amount of gunk with some wax.
|
Great information, that I will use.
Thanks a million! |
