07 GD3 noise

There is a pretty loud squeaking coming from the driver-side on the engine bay.
It happens when you're almost stopped, then once stopped completely, it goes away.(its not the brakes)
and sometimes it does it when you going 10-20 on a very bumpy road/dirt road.

does this when the engine is cold or hot, and when the temp outside it cold or hot.

To me it sounds almost like a belt squeak but a little faster and non consistent.

I will try to get it on video and upload later today.

I would think that the sound that you're hearing is your alternator belt being worn out but you said it was coming from the driver side right?

Yes it's from the driver side...

I am having the exact same problem with mine, it's a 07 lx, 150,000km. I hear the same squeeking sound your describing, more when I have it idling. It sounds like everything is running smooth and once in a while I hear a squeek. I will have a mechanic look at it tommorow. I will post my findings.

DWils 02-26-2015 06:18 AM

Could it be the front driver side spring?

UnicycleWheelie 02-26-2015 08:07 PM

at 1:09 you can hear it...sorry for the low sound, my iPhone is in a lifeproof case.

doctordoom 02-26-2015 10:20 PM

What's the engine light indicating? Does the car shake with the sound?

It doesn't sound like a belt from your video. Almost sounds like your car is about to stall, but it's hard to say from the video.

It has a missfire, I have installed new plugs, new coilpacks. both from rock auto and to the spec/model number that honda uses.

might be a bad fuel injector? or valves outta spec...also my battery died pretty quickly, so I had to get another one...and my lights sorta pulsate while I'm driving, and everything is the sound and stereo area is bone stock.

I know my fit has 226,XXX miles

doctordoom 02-26-2015 10:45 PM

The noise might be the valves, but I can't say for sure. When's the last time you adjusted them? If it's misfiring, I'd adjust the valves first anyway since that's a problem.

Do you have any aftermarket exhaust components? If not, it also sounds like you have an exhaust leak.

UnicycleWheelie 02-26-2015 10:52 PM

I haven't...and I have owned the car since 220,XXX

UnicycleWheelie 02-26-2015 10:53 PM

I have a spoon n1 w/ magnaflow CAT and a CAI

doctordoom 02-26-2015 10:55 PM

If you can, find out if/when the previous owner adjusted the valves. My advice is to start with the valves and then go from there.

UnicycleWheelie 02-26-2015 10:59 PM

Okay, how much does it cost to get all the valves adjusted? like 250 USD or can it be done in a garage ?

doctordoom 02-26-2015 11:03 PM

I've seen some say it costs a little over $100 to have a shop do it, maybe like $115?

Yes, you can do it yourself at home. That's the route some of us take, myself included.

UnicycleWheelie 02-26-2015 11:25 PM

Thank you for being very informational. I will try to get the valves done ASAP
