Air conditioning issues
Hey guys and gals,
I am having problems with my Ac. I had my compressor replaced a few years ago. The other day randomly my ac clutch won't turn on. I was hoping I would be lucky enough for it to just be a common relay switch replacement. Unfortunately it was not. So I have 2 questions: 1st where is the ac pressure switch located on the fit (can't seem to find it in my Hanes manual), and 2nd where is my ac grounded, as maybe the ground broke loose. I understand that it could be the Condenser is leaking refrigerant. How hard are the Condensers to replace? I definitely won't spend the money on a new Condenser, but I'm hoping it may just be a bad ground. Thanks in advance for any input and help!
God bless,
Ross

Get a gage from Pep Boys (Pencil Gage) https://www.pepboys.com/product/deta...745?quantity=1
and measure pressure at low side with engine is not running (it should read above the scale, approx 80 PSI)
If it reads low there is a leak.

A long shot guess, but did you have a lot of weight in the car? I ask because last month the A/C in our GE (Gen2) Fit quit while driving home from college with a very heavy load of stuff.
After unloading the car the next day, I was stumped because the A/C worked fine and it's since been perfect everyday.
Friends on FitFreak suggested the heavy engine load was the culprit and they appear to have been correct. I read elsewhere a passionate argument that the Fit is not equipped with a system that cuts off the A/C under heavy engine load, but I can think of no other reason for the reaction of our Fit.

Alco -- the GE, at least, ARE equipped with a system that cuts AC if you floor the pedal. Rationale is that wee engine of ours needs every last hp (and AC drag is not small on an engine with 115hp!). I don't know how the system is managed. I find it's not good enough and the car feels generally sluggish with the AC on. I'm not surprised that driving with a really heavy load, the car might keep the AC clutch off more of the time. Cool anecdote.

my ac was dead for awhile and the dealer wanted a new relay and something for almost 800 bucks in parts im like wtf!
found a junkyard compressor for 150 haha and then honda will charge me 2 hours of labor, over 50% savings baby! 90 day warrenty part, worth the risk for a car that's worth just over 2k
