Are you sure about that?
I thought the GD3 (1.5L versions) had the L15A1, and the GE8 (1.5L versions) is L15A7.
Similar but different variations.

ok, i just did some comparisons with different ecu's as far as m/t vs a/t i.d.'s.

Heres what i found:

2009-2011's all start with RP3-xxx(i found 1-2 exceptions which were in the 12'-13' fits, i excluded them to cut down on some confusion).

This is where it gets confusing...
09'-11' ecus with RP3-A03(or A04) are m/t.
09-11' ecus with RP3-A53(or A54, A63, A64 & A75) are a/t (or atleast what i found).

The even more confusing part...
Theres also 3 letters just under the RP3-xxx. The letters "FXU" were found only on m/t ecus that i found and are a confirmed m/t fit.
The a/t ecus seem to use anything but "FXU" that i found and are a confirmed a/t fit. Ex. of such a/t ecu's- FEY, FEX, F93, FFX.

Now, this may be info you already know but i didn't see any postings of such findings. As far as breaking down the above ecu's into where they are from I.e.- uk, asian, u.s., ect. I havent gotten too deep into that yet. But, im still looking. Hopefully i didnt make a fool of myself. Im a pro at obd1's and obd2A's...this witchcraft obd2B mess is just wrong. lol

Realized today I need this to remove the speed governer. Topped out at 120, need NOS, two of the big ones. But won't help with the governer there. Meh.

Any other ways around this?

*hypothetical situation

Ohhhh speed sensor? Could I add a different speedo somehow or I guess I could just use GPS! But then my odometer won't work right?

I like the tuna here.

Well, the GE8 has nice short gearing in the manual transmission. I think its rated to 138mph at redline in 5th if it wasnt speed-governed.

Dont unplug your VSS, your vtec solenoid wont activate.

EDIT Im told that honda did the vtec scenario just like its old cars, wont hit vtec if cold, low oil pressure, or if vss is disconnected

You don't need no stinkin vtak.... You need a long straight runway (if we didn't have a limiter).

But seriously isn't our i-VTEC geared for more of fuel economy? iirc, Peak torque occurs right before vtec engagement (~5.2-5.3k)...

we dont have true i-Vtec

We have good oldfashioned cam profile vtec like the old hondas

Our roller setup, small bore, and big stroke (for size) is why we make decent power and still be efficient. It is also why people can get good numbers out of bolt ons.

I'd like the runway to be on the shorter side rather than longer, so VTEC would be nice to have. GE8 VTEC is legitimate VTEC with a high cam. The GD has economy oriented setup like VTEC-E.

So I may have had an Apex'i RSM fall out of the sky. I know you can disable the speed cut on some vehicles with it, not sure if it'd work with the GE Fit? I can't find anything online but I know the GD is included in the manual, but it predates the GE. Anyone with info or should I start a new thread?
