IK22 reach shorter than stock plug

Everyone preaches going to IK22, so I decided to give it a shot today and noticed that apart from the smaller gap, the reach of the IK22 is shorter (2mm) than the ngk plugs which were put in by my honda dealership a year ago. This wouldn't concern me but the car doesn't feel as lively even after putting in 91 and driving 70~ miles. I find it strange that I'm having the opposite experience of everyone else here, and before my competence is questioned, I'm a tech and I wrech 6 days a week.
Should I just go back to factory plugs? Should I try regapping the IK22 first? Has anyone else noticed the difference in reach?

Open the gap to 1.3mm (.052") and see if that helps.

What was wrong with the plugs installed only a year ago? Correct plugs are good for 100k miles or more as long as they don't get fouled for some odd reason.

Reinstall those plugs?

I'm just hungry for any power there is to be had, and I heard positive feedback from people who had gone ik22/91octane and felt noticeably more pep.
A lot of people say not to gap iridiums, and these tips look super fragile, but I'll see what I can do otherwise I might try going back to stock.
thanks.
