SickSpeed Horn Install Question
I have a 2010 AT GE8 and want to replace the wimpy horn with a set of SickSpeed horns (dual tone like Hella). I bought the horns and have my wire and solder gun ready but my question is can I pull directly off of the stock + wire (purple) for power or will I need to include a relay?
Don't want to fry my stock wiring but at the same time doesn't seem like they draw much amperage. |
Usually they say to use a relay. The real Hellas come w it. There are a lot of threads (not necessarily on ff) about the install. Link how these sound! I almost pulled the trigger on a set today, but with only $15 between these and the Hellas I'm still torn.

These things are freaking loud. Sound just like Hella supertones to me. |
Where are you mounting them? I am thinking about these as well. I had PIAA dual tones on my Tundra and really liked them.

I've used the PIAA horns which look to be about the same thing and I didn't use a relay, it worked fine. It's probably better if you do, but I don't think it's a requirement. My car didn't burn down.
I just used the stock horn wiring. |
horn help!?
Where can I buy a relay for my super tones? I have sickspeed horns but I have no relay or wiring. Is it possible to just wire it and everything all stock wiring? If not where can I buy the supplies needed. and what are they?:vtec:

Here:
Relay Wiring The "Switch" is your horn button. You can pick up one of those relays at RadioShack for a couple bucks. |
