Moving OEM Aux Input?
Has anyone tried to remove the Aux cable from the radio faceplate or is it mounted internally to the radio?
I'd like to move it to the console so my girlfriend can not have crap hanging off the dash when she wants to listen to Pandora. |
I looked at moving it next to the 12v plug in, like the navi models have. Infact i was going to buy the navi parts. But i looked at a spare radio, and the aux input seems to be part of the radio faceplate. Its integral to the radio so it would require modifications to the radio circuit board to move it or add an external one.

That's unfortunate to hear. Back to the torture of the cable smacking the dash.
Thanks for the info! |
I don't want to discourage experimentation and learning - those are really important! - but, you MUST have better things to do with your time :)

Yea id rather leave the cable plugged in all the time and just hook my phone up when i get in the car, but now i unplug it and toss it in the floor so nobody thinks there's anything in the car of value.

You might try checking out the thread about the BT35-HON. You could use bluetooth audio streaming instead of the aux cable with the added bonus of bluetooth for your phone.
