Automatic Fits (2nd Gen)

Just wondering if the second generation of Fit has any reoccurring issues with the automatic transmissions? Does anyone have an AT Fit with high mileage?

Thanks!

I have a fit at 200k automatic

150K 09 Fit. No transmission issues. I changed the fluid early (at about 30K) to the current Honda fluid, DW1. This reduced some noise and smoothed shifts. Normally 1st change is about 70K and then every 30K by the MM.

I haven't heard of any FIT transmission issues, unlike Honda v6 autos in the early 2000s, ours have been pretty trouble free.

Loose spark plugs on the other hand...

I bought my '11 Fit LX with 153k miles. It is currently at 173k (almost a year later). I have changed the ATF once. I also noticed the shifting was appreciably smoother. I plan to do the 3x flush at my next oil change.

I have a 09 Fit Sport with 135K miles. Changed the AT fluid every 30K miles with Honda trans. fluid. Only use Honda fluid, no aftermarket stuff. Honda’s are really picky about AT fliud. Also changed the external transmission filter around 80K miles. Transmission still shifts great. Never did the 3x change in any Honda that I have owned , but many swear by that method.
I have not heard of auto transmission issues with this generation of Fit for what that’s worth.

We have 2011 Fit Sport auto with 65k miles. Original owner provided receipts showing dealer changed transmission fluid 3x during regular service visits. Transmission shifts perfectly.

Replace your ATF, and take care of it. should last a good while. Do not be that guys who says ATF never needs to be replaced and its all a scam etc.

Edit: At 99k, still running smooth, and better than my sisters Nissan CVT that broke at 60k...

I have followed the manual and had dealer do change. Tranny still smooth and I like to downshift to 3rd often -). Heck I drive it in third often as feels good revving a bit higher.

At 220k no problems

Mine makes a krKkrlK noise between first and second at low speeds. Any idea what this is?

No problem on my 2010 with 106K miles. I've always done the recommended fluid change per the maintenance minder schedule.

Just bought a 2011 with 150k. No issues with the transmission yet, hoping it stays that way with maintenance!

I have. Mostly happens uphill. I'm a bit mystified.

Does the 'clunk' coincide with the AT tranny downshifts while going uphill? Could it be loose front suspension or bad CV joints / drive shafts?

2012 At 92k , changed external filter & hoses, and 3x Honda fluid, still shifting like new.
