Swapped and upgraded brakes, now some noise well driving

Hi guys,
I just replaced the rotors and pads on my 2017 and my 2012 fits. Both vehicles I upgraded with drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads. The 2017 went flawlessly and I noticed no sounds or issues afterwards. The 2012, not so much. After putting it all back together again, then testing the brakes by hitting them pretty hard several times to make sure everything worked, it started making a tapping noise, as if something were stuck to one of the pads as it turned. It sounded like it might be making the sound every time and edge of a pad caught one of the slots or drill holes in the rotor. It went away, came back, went away again, and now it seems like both sides of the front. Makes a scraping sound, seems like it's after I start accelerating. I've taken the wheels off and checked the rotors and the calipers and everything seems right. Did this just be noise that is part of the break-in process with ceramic pads? Maybe given it seems to be happening when I'm accelerating it has to do with bearings? Has anyone else experienced this?

One last thing, and this may just be me not knowing because I've never really tested it, but after driving in town if I hop out of the car and touch the brakes they are too hot to hold. Not enough to sizzle and burn. It makes sense that might be just normal heating up from usage but I'm not sure how hot they're supposed to get and how quickly.

Brake in process for ceramic pads is, from my memory at least, a series of hard stops from increasing speeds, done in a sequence. like, stopping fast from 20, 40, and 60 three times, each set done in what seemed like not enough time.. like 3 minutes. and you of course dont want to stop too hard and have an accident or lose traction.

check your install on the 12 fit brakes again if you can and look for a few things. like, check and see that the pads are seated correctly, and if you didnt before, you can add some brake parts lubricant. there's a purple goop made by permatex, ceramic brake parts lube i think it says. Put that on where the pad backing encounters the caliper's piston, and where the pads secure into the caliper. Make sure the metal pad backing "anti squeal clips" are in place. and make sure you still have those brake spreader pins that look like little coat hangers installed. They're essential to keeping the pads from rubbing and warping the rotors. Some instructions tell you to remove them and dont say to reinstall 'em. its an error/miscommunication.

Also, pads should definitely be hot after a drive. Like, crazy hot engine coolant don't touch, because as yuh know, they're stopping more than a ton by way of friction. But if yours seem abnormally hot after like, backing out of the driveway/driving a block, paired with the noise it may be fair to assume that they are rubbing.

EDIT: dont get brake parts lube on any part of the braking surface, pad or rotor. if you do, get it off with a shop/paper towel and rubbing alcohol.
