Question 2011 Fit Sport: Mastercraft SRT Touring center rib wear on front wheels

Hi all,
My son brought over his 2011 Fit Sport for front brakes and rotors (a successful repair, btw). When purchased about 7 months ago, it came with nearly-new Mastercraft SRT Touring tires. No known feel/performance issues with them (other than being suboptimal for snow). However, I was surprised to see the center rib (and only the center rib) worn down much more than the others on both front tires, especially driver side. Here is the kicker: tire pressure is right on spec (33psi), and of course there's no easy way to massively overload the front end of a Fit, so that's out. It is a bit overdue for a front/back rotation, but something does not seem right - I am thinking tire defect? I would expect overinflation to also show on the inner edges of the 2 other ribs closest to the center rib, but there is none of that. And PSIs are correct.

Has anyone else seen this?

The sticker on the door is the suggested PSI for the stock tire. You might have to adjust from there. My Yokohamas wear best when I run at about 35psi.

That is bizarre. 33psi shouldn't be anywhere near "too high."

I can only find these tires @ Walmart and Amazon, which makes me think it's not the best quality; a defective tire. I assume the alignment is good?
