Nauwaysaint's GE8
I own a 2012 MT base and regularly drive my local 15 mile downhill with it.
So far I have: Replaced brake pads with semi metallics Installed cam bolts gotten an alignment with -0.5 degrees negative camber in the front Installed CDV delete Installed Progress rear sway bar rear seat and belt delete removed sound deadening Spoon muffler (and baffle for highway drives) The rear sway bar wholly transformed the way the fit handles and even improves the ride without the rear seats. I am able to enter corners much faster and more confidently now I'm not constantly wrestling against understeer. If you do not have one i cannot recommend it enough. just today I took a corner on an empty road at a speed that would have been slightly pushing it without the sway bar and it was so much more stable! it also feels less like the car is on ice skates when there is rain grooves on the highway. Next mods: GD coils Konig Heliums Acuity shifter cable bushings Insight Control arms - looking at junkyard ones this sunday! (rebuilding them wont be a walk in the park i hear but im up for it) rear wiper delete How its sitting as of mid may 2025: https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...3bf3ad948e.jpg will attempt to keep this thread updated and add pics of installs and my fit at my local pass. any advice on what to get or what i am doing wrong is greatly appreciated :) |
The CDV is in the slave cylinder.
|
Not correct Frenzal. Its the master cylinder with CDV. The master cyl is actuated by the pedal and is on the firewall. the Clutch slave cylinder is on the clutch/trans and is actuated by the fluid moved by the master cyl.
|
Good plans on the car! I too have the same changes, I just cut the muffler off and welding pipe in place of it. The camber and sway bar are great for handling as you are finding out!
A master cyl without the CDV is the way to go. |
Every Honda with a CDV that I had was in the slave cylinder. 05 Honda Accord, 04 S2000, 24 Integra Type S. It is the same on every Civic. The Fit would be the only one with the CDV in the master.
This is on an Accord: On the Fit, it seems to be more of a damper module, not in the slave nor the master - but the video is for a GD3 I think (also had one damper module on my '24 Integra - on top of the slave cylinder CDV): |
Just drive well within your limits and watch out for motorcyclists, cyclists, etc. Driving ‘fast’ on public roads is wack.
|
I always drive within my limits and most often in off hours so there is little if any traffic. Driving in an unsafe manner around people is something I would not do.

Ditch your back seats.

I would if I didn't occasionally have to haul a few friends, I am looking into lighter front seats eventually though

if i'm not way off base here the "race seats" i'd be looking at would be similarly protective due to the bolstering and reinforced seat itself? also i have removed the rear seats temporarily(?) and i really noticed a difference, thank you for the suggestion, they may end up staying out lol

What's up with the cam bolts? Where did you purchase them and how does it affect performance? Your thoughts so far on the Spoon Muffler?
