Well, guys. I'm moving on
Rear-ended on December 1, Kemper insurance (responsible party's) is just approaching acquisition of the car now.
And. I'm sad. I'm going to be moving on. i got an 03 Lincoln LS, which overheated on the ride home :rotfl: They put the EGR valve, without a heat shield, right next to the plastic thermostat housing assembly.. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...9497b0f76d.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...a2e5b0edce.jpg Its forum is pretty dang inactive, but someone did figure out compatible metal cooling system parts, so I'm doing that. Its service manual isn't as good -- no sir. But I'm jumping from 115ish hp to 280 with cooling seats and adjustable lumbar support :o and its manual is made by bishko.. Kinda cool news.. even with rough cosmetics, my Fit was totaled out at $6,750.. 120K miles, but some rough cosmetics. If they fixed the paint and minor damage in house, they'd make money. Now if they just fucking pay me... |
The LS is a very comfortable ride, and can get out of it's own way.
|
Sorry but that EGR isn't causing an overheat condition in your cooling system, the fact that it's a Lincoln is.....good luck
|
Sorry to hear it. Hope the cushy ride of your Lincoln cushions the blow of your loss.
|
Thanks for the well-wishes 🥲
Presently making my own coolant lines out of aluminum tubing to substitute discontinued pre-formed hose. Never buy an unpopular car https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...dfe8c43c2a.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...4446bd2d7f.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...1645e505d4.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...8cc952c498.jpg |
What does an 2003 Lincoln LS discussion have to do with 2nd Generation Honda Fits?
|
Nicely done sir, use silicon coolant hose to connect those pieces and it will outlast the car. (I hate rubber hoses)

And I'm a contributor of note to the 2nd gen community, bringing you treats like the revised spark plug torque spec, pretty solid user-error troubleshooting assistance (if it can be done wrong, I've done it, and with so much confidence that I paint-striped it -- i need to apply for an R&D position at Dorman), and a few write-ups. Really, I don't want to leave the Fit forum.. The Lincoln forum is dead-dead.. But what's a girl to do? |

Hey, since I'd surely catch flak for posting about a Lincoln on here 😂 would you mind if I reached out to you direct on occasion? (to ask about things like forming your own cooling lines!) |
@Pyts This forum has room to accommodate divergent discussions, especially in view of the fact that the 2nd Generation Fit is no longer made, and the Fit posting participation here is dwindling. :)
Of course, I ain't no moderator. Maybe they can adjudicate this matter, if necessary. :D |
Ahh, just lonely over there in Lincoln forum land, then:thumbups:
|
Screw'em it's a car forum, you had a Fit, you may end up with one again who knows. I'd say just post the Lincoln stuff in this thread.
