Perhaps I just don't get it....but...Why spend good money changing a Japanes built car, with some changes made when it is shipped to the US, back to a Japanese version? It is the same car, built by the same people, with just a few cosmetic changes depending on where it is sold. Changing it to JDM doesn't make it any better, just a copy cat of one sold in Japan, at great expense. If it is just for the fun of doing it, have at it. But it doesn't make it any better.
I have a pair of auto folding mirrors with the winkers for sale. The covers are in Cerulean Blue Metallic ( BG-53M ) (repaintable). No installation instruction. $400. PM me if interested.

I wonder if you do a front end jdm swap, bumper and all, and you run it into a wall at 40 mph will it still get a 5 star rating like the usdm fit?

Hey...this is just a thought, so please don't flame
I just finished reading the entire thread--and I'm thinking that in addition to the part numbers listed on post #1 (which is awesome btw)...perhaps we could get pictures of all the parts installed? (or what they look like on the jdm fit)--because some of them sound interesting but I haven't necessarily seen them in action.
Anyways--I love your work JDM_DOHC_SIR...props to you.

So, what are you going to do about the rear bumper to turn it into a true JDM.
Lots of guys in Thailand are just buying the ABS Mugen RS front and rear bumpers with fog lights/skirts for around $400 painted and fitted, so there are lots of cheap secondhand front and rear bumpers on the local forums, headlights, too, as lots of people are fiting projectors.

I am an expat and don't read much Thai either, so just install the Thai font and click around the pics on the threads.

the problem with the JDM rear end is that USDM have a rear reinforcement bar in the back which does not fit the JDM rear bumper. What i had to do was remove the rear bumper, the reinforcement bar then attach the JDM bumper. When you remove the rear reinforcement bar, you also remove one of the hangers for the exhaust.
my solution to all this is: i took all my part for the rear to my friend's body shop n had him do everything. we cut the rear reinforcement bar to make it shorter n welded the hanger for the exhaust.
SO: now my car can pass the US Virginia safety standard, and i can still use the exhaust hanger AND i can still use the JDM rear bumper.
honestly this mod only took 15 mins to do, n it only cost me $200 just for the bumper.

Didn't you just answer your question yourself Lek? The grass is always greener on the other side. Personally I much prefer the shorter, stubby look of the JDM compared to the elongated look of the USDM, especially the front end, it just doesn't look right to my eyes when looking at profile shots.
This American guy imported his Fit to Thailand and guys go crazy when they see it. The more he gives details of his upgrades, the more the guys want it.
Maybe you should just import a Jazz JDM.
